Brahim Dahak

Painter and engraver associated with the École de Tunis, known for works rooted in Tunisian popular culture and daily life. Born in Gafsa, Dahak trained in Tunis before receiving a scholarship to study at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, where he developed his practice across painting, mosaic, ceramics, and engraving. Based in Sidi Bou Said from the 1960s, he became especially recognized for his xylographs, including series such as La Geste Hilalienne, Les Oiseaux de la Méditerranée, and Les Poissons de Tunisie.
