Abstract painter and printmaker who settled in Paris in 1953, developing a lyrical style that bridged European modernism and North African visual traditions. His etchings and engravings are marked by gestural, expressive forms often evoking figures, animals, and landscapes of his native Algeria. His works are held by the Bibliothèque Nationale de France and Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.
