Rafa Nasiri

Painter and printmaker whose works combined Arabic calligraphy with modernist abstraction in richly textured compositions. Trained in Baghdad and Beijing, he became one of the most prominent printmakers to emerge from Iraq's modern art movement. His works are held by the British Museum, Barjeel Art Foundation, and the Saatchi Collection.
